Area D Five is a story music piece commisioned by and composed for Nederlands Blazers Ensemble.
The story is a fictional heroic story that I wrote while composing the music. The piece and the story have 5 sections. The narration of the story is heard from speakers while the ensemble supports the story with music.
In the last section of this piece I sing parts of a Persian poem by Ahmad Shamloo.
My singing style inspired by Persian traditional singing is accompanied by classical harmony and middle eastern melodies that are performed by the ensemble.
